DTC P2533-14: Ignition Switch On/Start Position Circuit Low Circuit Short to Ground or Open [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (IGR) 
    1. Read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Hybrid Control > Data List 

      Tester Display

      Standard

      IGR Ignition switch ON ON

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IGR VOLTAGE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Hybrid Vehicle Control ECU)
      - -

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A27-33 (IGR) - D67-15 (E1) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the power distribution box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      9C-36 - A27-33 (IGR) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      9C-36 or A27-33 (IGR) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the power distribution box assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the power distribution box assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      9B-36 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      9C-41 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the power distribution box assembly connectors.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
