DTC P0530-15: Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Circuit Short to Battery or Open [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK COMPARE REFRIGERANT GAS PRESSURE VALUES SHOWN ON GTS AND MANIFOLD GAUGE SET 
    1. Install a manifold gauge set.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [11/2021 - ]

    2. Compare the values displayed in the Data List and on the manifold gauge.

      Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 air conditioning pressure sensor connector.

      (to Air Conditioning Pressure Sensor)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-1 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 air conditioning pressure sensor connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-2 (PR) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 3.0 to 5.25 V

      Result

      5.25 V or higher A
      3.0 to 5.25 V B
      Below 3.0 V C

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 air conditioning pressure sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the D53 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-2 (PR) or D53-6 (PRE) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (INTERNAL CIRCUIT RESISTANCE) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 air conditioning pressure sensor connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-3 (+) - A17-2 (PR) Ignition switch off 180 to 220 kΩ

      HINT: 

      After turning the ignition switch off, wait at least 30 seconds before performing the measurement.

    Result:

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR - AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 air conditioning pressure sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the D53 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-2 (PR) - A17-3 (+) Always 10 kΩ or higher
      D53-6 (PRE) - D53-11 (S5-3) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 air conditioning pressure sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the D53 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-2 (PR) - D53-6 (PRE) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY - AIR CONDITIONING PRESSURE SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 air conditioning pressure sensor connector.
    2. Disconnect the D53 air conditioning amplifier assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A17-1 (-) - D53-15 (SG-4) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
