Caution / Notice / Hint

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2025 Lexus NX 350, 2024 Lexus NX 350, 2023 Lexus NX 350, and 2022 Lexus NX 350. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
  1. DATA LIST
    NOTE:

In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    HINT:

Using the GTS to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Turn the GTS on.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Data List / A/T Oil Temperature No. 1.
    7. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

Powertrain > Transmission > Data List

Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
A/T Oil Temperature No. 1 ATF temperature sensor value Min.: -40°C (-40°F)
      Max.: 150°C (302°F)
      or Invalid Value
      • Approximately 80°C (176°F): After stall speed test
      • Equal to ambient temperature: When engine is cold
If value is -40°C (-40°F) or 150°C (302°F), ATF temperature sensor circuit is open or shorted

Powertrain > Transmission > Data List

      Tester Display
      A/T Oil Temperature No. 1

      HINT:

      • If DTC P0710-11 is output and the GTS indicates 150°C (302°F) or higher, there is a short in the circuit.
      • If DTC P0710-15 is output and the GTS indicates -40°C (-40°F), the circuit is open.

Check the temperature displayed on the GTS in order to check if a malfunction exists.
