DTC C143A-7E: ABS Solenoid Control Module Actuator Stuck On; DTC C143A-7F: ABS Solenoid Control Module Actuator Stuck Off [12/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC
    1. Check the details of the DTCs.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes

      HINT:

When C137B-A2 and/or C137B-A3 is output together with C143A-7E and/or C143A-7F, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by C137B-A2 and/or C137B-A3 first.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only C137B-A2 or C137B-A3 is output A
C137B-A2 or C137B-A3 and other DTCs are output B

    Result:

REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS

    Result:

    See step  2

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (+BS TERMINAL)

    Procedure1

    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

      Pre-procedure1

    2. Disconnect the A25 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

      Procedure2

    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

      Procedure3

    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A25-14 (+BS) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

      Post-procedure1

    5. None

    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    OK

    See step  3

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GND1 TERMINAL)
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
A25-1 (GND1) - Body ground 1 minute or more after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    OK

    See step  4

  4. CLEAR DTC

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Reconnect the A25 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

      Procedure1

    2. Operate the GTS to clear the codes.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

      Post-procedure1

    3. Turn the ignition switch off.

    Result:

    NEXT

    See step  5

  5. RECONFIRM DTC

    Pre-procedure1

    1. Based on the Freeze Frame Data and interview with the customer, attempt to reproduce the conditions when the malfunction occurred.

      Procedure1

    2. Operate the GTS to read the DTCs.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      C143A-7E and C143A-7F are not output A
      C143A-7E or C143A-7F is output B

      HINT:

      • If a speed signal of 6 km/h (4 mph) or more is input to the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) with the ignition switch ON and the stop light switch assembly off, the ECU performs self-diagnosis of the solenoid circuit.
      • If the normal system code is output (no DTCs are output), slightly jiggle the connectors, wire harnesses, and fuses of the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly).
      • If any DTCs are output while jiggling a connector or wire harness of the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly), inspect and repair the connector or wire harness.
      • If no DTCs were output when reconfirming DTCs, checking for intermittent problems is necessary because it is suspected that the original DTCs were stored due to the poor connection of a connector terminal.

      Post-procedure1

    3. None

    Result:

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2023 - ]

    Result:

REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2023 - ]
