- INSPECT SIDE AUTO STEP SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Inspect the side auto step switch assembly.
*a Component without harness connected
(Side Auto Step Switch Assembly)- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E96-4 (OFF) - E96-2 (GND) Side auto step switch assembly OFF Below 1 Ω E96-4 (OFF) - E96-2 (GND) Side auto step switch assembly AUTO 10 kΩ or higher E96-5 (DPLY) - E96-2 (GND) Side auto step switch assembly AUTO 10 kΩ or higher E96-5 (DPLY) - E96-2 (GND) Side auto step switch assembly OUT Below 1 Ω If the result is not as specified, replace the side auto step switch assembly.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Check the illumination.

(Side Auto Step Switch Assembly)- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the side auto step switch assembly and check that the lights illuminate.

Tester Connection Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) - E96-6 (ILL+)
Auxiliary battery negative (-) - E96-1 (ILL-)Side auto step switch assembly illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the side auto step switch assembly.
- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the side auto step switch assembly and check that the lights illuminate.
- Inspect the side auto step switch assembly.
