Inspection [10/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TOE CONTROL LINK SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the turning torque of the ball joint.

      1. Install the nut to the toe control link sub-assembly stud.
      2. Using a torque wrench, turn the stud continuously at a rate of 2 to 4 seconds per turn, and then read the torque on the 5th turn.
        STANDARD TURNING TORQUE

        Specified Condition Result
        1.0 to 3.0 N.m
        11 to 30 kgf/cm
        9 to 26 in.lbf        		 N.m
        kgf/cm
        in.lbf
      3. If the turning torque is outside the specified range, replace the toe control link sub-assembly with a new one.
      4. Rotate the stud bolt.

        standard

        It turns smoothly and there is no looseness

      5. If the stud bolt does not turn smoothly or there is looseness, replace the toe control link sub-assembly with a new one.
    2. Inspect the dust cover.
      1. Check for any cracks or grease on the dust cover.
      2. If there are any cracks or grease on the dust cover, replace the toe control link sub-assembly with a new one.
