Removal [08/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE TAIL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
  2. REMOVE LOWER MAIN MUFFLER HEAT INSULATOR

  3. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

  4. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  5. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER BAR 

    See step  6

  6. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    See step  3
  7. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  8. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH 

    See step  2

  9. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  10. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY WITH BOX 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2023 - ]

  12. REMOVE NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  13. REMOVE CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
  14. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10
  15. INSTALL CONNECTOR COVER ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
  16. INSTALL NO. 2 INVERTER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  17. DISCONNECT FLOOR UNDER WIRE 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

      *a Waterproof Seal - -
      1. Remove the 2 bolts and floor under wire from the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the terminals, interlock connector or rear traction motor with transaxle assembly during disconnection.
        • Do not touch the waterproof seal or terminals of the connector.
        • Do not allow any foreign matter or water to enter the rear traction motor with transaxle assembly.
        • Although the connector may feel loose, this is not due to a malfunction.
      2. Disengage the clamp.

  19. SEPARATE FRAME WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  20. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *a Engine Lifter *b Attachment
      Attachment Placement Location - -
      1. Using an engine lifter and 4 attachments or equivalent tools, support the rear suspension member sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
        WARNING:
        • The rear suspension member sub-assembly is a very heavy component. Make sure that it is supported securely.
        • If the rear suspension member sub-assembly is not securely supported, it may drop, resulting in serious injury.

        NOTE:

        Use attachments or equivalent tools to keep the rear suspension member sub-assembly level.

      2. Remove the 2 bolts, 4 nuts, rear suspension member rear lower brace LH and rear suspension member rear lower brace RH.
      3. Slowly lower the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        When lowering the rear suspension member sub-assembly, be careful not to damage the vehicle body or other components installed to the vehicle.

  21. REMOVE REAR TRACTION MOTOR WITH TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  22. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    See step  2
  23. REMOVE REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  24. REMOVE REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH 
    See step  3
  25. REMOVE REAR UPPER NO. 2 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  26. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MENBER LOWER STOPPER RETAINER LH

  27. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER LOWER STOPPER RETAINER RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  28. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR LOWER STOPPER

  29. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION LH

      *a Bend Portion *b Hold
      Turn - -
      1. Using a chisel and hammer, bend the 2 portions of the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH rib.
        NOTE:

        Make sure to bend the 2 portions of the cushion rib until the claws of SST can fit securely.

      2. Install SST as shown in the illustration.

        • SST: 09950-40011 
          1. 09951-04010
          2. 09952-04010
          3. 09954-04010
          4. 09955-04061
          5. 09958-04011
        NOTE:

        Apply molybdenum grease to the threads and tip of the SST center bolt before use.

      3. Using SST, remove the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH while applying lubricant into the clearance between the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH and the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • SST: 09830-10010

        • SST: 09950-40011 
          1. 09951-04010
          2. 09952-04010
          3. 09954-04010
          4. 09955-04061
          5. 09958-04011
        NOTE:
        • Set the claws of SST into the rear suspension member sub-assembly securely as shown in the illustration.
        • Tighten SST slowly and evenly.
        • Be careful as the rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH may fly out.
        • The rear suspension member front body mounting cushion LH cannot be reused.
  30. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT BODY MOUNTING CUSHION RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  31. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION LH

      Turn - -
      1. Install SST as shown in the illustration.
        • SST: 09950-00020 
        • SST: 09950-00030 
        • SST: 09950-60011 
          1. 09951-00330
        NOTE:

        Apply molybdenum grease to the threads and tip of the SST center bolt before use.

      2. Using SST, remove the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH while applying lubricant into the clearance between the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH and the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • SST: 09950-00020 
        • SST: 09950-00030 
        • SST: 09950-60011 
          1. 09951-00330
        NOTE:
        • Tighten SST slowly and evenly.
        • Be careful as the rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH may fly out.
        • The rear suspension member rear body mount cushion LH cannot be reused.
  32. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER REAR BODY MOUNT CUSHION RH 
    1. Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.
  33. REMOVE DIFFERENTIAL MOUNT CUSHION

      *1 Rear suspension member sub-assembly - -
      *a Turn *b Hold
      Front of vehicle SST bolt position
      Turning Direction - -
      1. Using SST, remove the differential mount cushion from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • SST: 09316-12010 
        • SST: 09570-24011 
        NOTE:
        • Do not bring SST into contact with the rear suspension member sub-assembly.
        • Before using SST, apply grease to SST bolt.
        • Set SST in the correct direction.
        • Do not tilt the SST bolt.
        • Do not reuse the differential mount cushion.
