Installation [10/2022 - ]: Procedure
- INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
*a Stopper - - Bolt (A) Bolt (B) - Install the 8 wire harness clamp brackets to the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly with the 8 bolts.
Bolt (A)
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
Bolt (B)
Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf)
HINT:
Align the stopper on the wire harness clamp bracket as shown in the illustration.
- Install the 8 wire harness clamp brackets to the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly with the 8 bolts.
- INSTALL HOSE BRACKET
- INSTALL HV BATTERY CHARGER WIRE
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 - INSTALL UPPER INVERTER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 - INSTALL MOTOR MOUNTING INSULATOR LH
- INSTALL REAR MOTOR MOUNTING INSULATOR RH
- INSTALL MOTOR MOUNTING STAY RH
- INSTALL NO. 1 INVERTER COOLING HOSE ASSEMBLY
*1 Retainer - - *a Upper Side of Vehicle *b 107.2° *c 2 to 7 mm (0.0787 to 0.276 in.) *d Paint Mark *e 120° (Claw of Clip Location) - - Push in the retainer - - - Engage the 3 clamps to install the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly.
- Connect the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly to the rear transaxle motor cooling cooler and slide the clip to secure it.NOTE:
- Make sure to slide the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly until it contacts the hose stopper of the rear transaxle motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly with the paint mark of the rear transaxle motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure that the claws of the clip are within the location shown in the illustration.
- Connect the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly to the inverter and lock the hose with the retainer as shown in the illustration.NOTE:
- Push in the retainer until a click sound is heard.
- Pull the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly to check that it is securely connected.
- If there is foreign matter on the retainer, clean it by hand with water.
- Until immediately before connecting the No. 1 inverter cooling hose assembly, keep plastic bags attached to the pipes to prevent foreign matter from entering the coolant path.
- INSTALL NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE ASSEMBLY
*1 Retainer - - *a 2 to 7 mm (0.0787 to 0.276 in.) *b Paint Mark *c 120° (Claw of Clip Location) - - Push in the retainer - - - Engage the 2 clamps to install the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose assembly.
- Connect the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose assembly to the inverter and lock the hose with the retainer as shown in the illustration.NOTE:
- Push in the retainer until a click sound is heard.
- Pull the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose assembly to check that it is securely connected.
- If there is foreign matter on the retainer, clean it by hand with water.
- Until immediately before connecting the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose assembly, keep plastic bags attached to the pipes to prevent foreign matter from entering the coolant path.
- Connect the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose assembly to the rear transaxle motor cooling cooler and slide the clip to secure it.NOTE:
- Make sure to slide the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose assembly until it contacts the hose stopper of the rear transaxle motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure to align the paint mark of the No. 1 transmission oil cooler hose assembly with the paint mark of the rear transaxle motor cooling cooler.
- Make sure that the claws of the clip are within the location shown in the illustration.
- INSTALL FRAME WIRE
Push down the lever until the sound of the claw connecting is heard - - - Engage the 8 clamps to install the frame wire.
- Connect the 2 inverter connectors.NOTE:
Push down the lever until the sound of the inverter connector contacting the claw can be heard.
- Connect the oil pump connector.
- Connect the motor resolver and transmission fluid temperature sensor connector.
- Connect the rear motor temperature sensor connector.
- Connect the frame wire with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL REAR TRANSAXLE WITH MOTOR AND INVERTER ASSEMBLY
- Using a mini crane and 2 belt slings, hold the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.WARNING:
- Do not lift the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly more than necessary.
- When lifting the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly, make sure it is well balanced.
*1 Upper Motor Mounting Stopper *2 Lower Motor Mounting Stopper Bolt (A) Bolt (B) - Temporarily install the 2 upper motor mounting stoppers, 2 lower motor mounting stoppers and rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with 4 new bolts.
HINT:
Bolt Bolt Length (A) 110 mm (4.33 in.) (B) 45 mm (1.77 in.) - Fully tighten the 2 bolts (B).
Torque: 130 N.m (1326 kgf/cm, 96 ft.lbf)
- Fully tighten the 2 bolts (A).
Torque: 91 N.m (928 kgf/cm, 67 ft.lbf)
- Temporarily install the 2 upper motor mounting stoppers, 2 lower motor mounting stoppers and rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with 4 new bolts.
- Using a mini crane and 2 belt slings, hold the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.
- CONNECT FRAME WIRE
- INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY NOTE:
When replacing the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly, perform "14.ECU CONFIGURATION" after connecting the cable to the auxiliary battery terminal.

- ECU CONFIGURATION NOTE:
Perform the ECU configuration after replacing the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly.
Refer to ECU CONFIGURATION [10/2022 - ]
- PERFORM RESOLVER LEARNING NOTE:
If the rear transaxle with motor and inverter assembly have been replaced, make sure to perform resolver learning.
