DTC P179E-00: Gear Shift Actuator "A" Performance [11/2021 - ]: Description

The shift control actuator assembly consists of a shift actuator ECU, motor, motor rotation angle sensor and output shaft rotation angle sensor. The shift control actuator assembly operates the motor in accordance with the operation signal from the shift control ECU to change the shift state between P and other than P.

The motor rotation sensor detects the motor rotation angle and optimizes the motor speed and current. The output shaft rotation angle sensor determines the shift state based on the sensor angle and transmits the state to the shift control ECU.

If the shift actuator ECU determines that the motor is malfunctioning or the detected motor rotation angle or output angle is not correct, the hybrid vehicle control ECU stores a DTC.
