DTC B00D5-12: Restraint System Passenger Disable Indicator Circuit Short to Battery [11/2021 - 10/2023]: Procedure

Pre-procedure1

1. Turn the power switch off.
2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

   Procedure1

3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag ECU assembly and multi-display (passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator).

   OK

   The connectors are properly connected.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

   Post-procedure1

4. None

Result: 

NG 

CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY

1. Disconnect the airbag ECU assembly connector.

2. Disconnect the multi-display (passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator) connector.

   Procedure1

3. Check that the connectors (on the airbag ECU assembly side and multi-display (passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator) side) are not damaged.

   OK

   The terminals of the connectors are not deformed or damaged.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

   Post-procedure1

4. None

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Pre-procedure1

1. Connect the G167 multi-display (passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator) connector.

   *2	Airbag ECU Assembly
   *3	Wire Harness
   *a	Front view of wire harness connector (to Airbag ECU Assembly)

2. Using a service wire, connect terminal 35 (PAON) of connector B and body ground.
   NOTE:

   Do not forcibly insert the service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting a service wire.

3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
4. Turn the power switch on (IG).

   Procedure1

5. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator operation.

   OK

   The passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator "ON" does not come on.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

   Post-procedure1

6. Turn the power switch off.
7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
8. Disconnect the service wire from connector B.

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - 10/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2022 - 10/2023] 

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2020 - ]
