Hazard Warning Switch Circuit [10/2017 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

      Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2017 - 09/2018] , or refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2018 - 10/2020]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2017 - 09/2018]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  2. INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the AA hazard warning signal switch assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the G34 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      AA-6 (HAZ) - G34-2 (HZSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      AA-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      AA-6 (HAZ) or G34-2 (HZSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - 10/2020] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
