DTC U0235-87: Lost Communication with Cruise Control Front Distance Range Sensor Missing Message [09/2018 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE TYPE 
    1. Check the vehicle type.

      Result

  2. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA MAIN WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the N5 object recognition camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N5-8 (CA4P) - N5-9 (CA4N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      N5-8 (CA4P) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      N5-9 (CA4N) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      N5-8 (CA4P) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      N5-9 (CA4N) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

  3. CHECK MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - 10/2020]

      Body Electrical > Front Recognition Camera (Front Lighting Control) > Clear DTCs 

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - 10/2020]

      Body Electrical > Front Recognition Camera (Front Lighting Control) > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC U0235-87 is not output.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    END (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] 

  4. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY MAIN WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the C6 millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C6-5 (CA1P) - C6-6 (CA1N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      C6-5 (CA1P) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      C6-6 (CA1N) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      C6-5 (CA1P) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      C6-6 (CA1N) - G112-16 (BAT) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily replace the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020]

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - 10/2020]

      Body Electrical > Front Recognition Camera (Front Lighting Control) > Clear DTCs 

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2018 - 10/2020]

      Body Electrical > Front Recognition Camera (Front Lighting Control) > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC U0235-87 is not output.

      Result

    END (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE)

    REPLACE OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2018 - 10/2020] 

  6. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA MAIN WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the N5 forward recognition camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N5-8 (CA4P) - N5-9 (CA4N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      N5-8 (CA4P) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      N5-9 (CA4N) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher

  8. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY MAIN WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the C6 millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C6-5 (CA1P) - C6-6 (CA1N) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      C6-5 (CA1P) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      C6-6 (CA1N) - G112-4 (CG) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 200 Ω or higher

      Body Electrical > Front Recognition Camera (Front Lighting Control) > Clear DTCs 

    3. Check for DTCs.

      DTC U0235-87 is not output.
