Removal [09/2018 - 10/2020]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 10/2020]

    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    WARNING:
    • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2018 - 10/2020]

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR UPPER TRIM COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR ARMREST COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR NO. 2 ARMREST COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  7. REMOVE COURTESY LIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 23

  10. REMOVE DOOR SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR LH 
    1. Check that the engine switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:
      • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If this procedure is performed without disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal, the airbag may deploy even if an impact is applied only to the door side airbag sensor LH. Therefore, make sure that the negative (-) battery terminal is disconnected before performing this procedure.

    3. Remove the nut.

      Pull Out
      NOTE:

      Do not reuse the nut.

    4. Detach the claw and pull out the door side airbag sensor LH.
      NOTE:

      If the door side airbag sensor LH has been dropped, replace it with a new one.

    5. Disconnect the airbag connector.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

      1. Push down the housing lock and slide the CPA. (At this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet.)

        *a Housing Lock *b CPA
        *c CPA Upper Part *d Connector Lock is Released
      2. Push the housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
        NOTE:

        Do not push down the upper part of the CPA shown in the illustration when disconnecting the airbag connector.

      3. After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.
