Installation [06/2019 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the radiator assembly (for inverter coolant) to the cooler condenser assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf/cm, 80 in.lbf) 

    2. Insert the cooler condenser assembly and radiator assembly (for inverter coolant) into the vehicle and into the guide.
      NOTE:

      When inserting the cooler condenser assembly and radiator assembly (for Inverter Coolant), do not damage the cooler condenser assembly, radiator assembly (for Inverter Coolant) and radiator assembly.

      Install in this Direction

      HINT: 

      If the cooler condenser assembly is replaced with a new one, add compressor oil to the new cooler condenser assembly.

      Capacity

      40 cc (1.35 fl.oz)

      Compressor Oil

      ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

    3. Attach the claw to install the cooler condenser assembly with radiator assembly (for inverter coolant).

  2. CONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the discharge hose sub-assembly and the connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the hose joint.

      Compressor Oil

      ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

      NOTE:

      Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.

    3. Install the O-ring to the discharge hose sub-assembly.

      NOTE:

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    4. Connect the discharge hose sub-assembly to the cooler condenser assembly with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the discharge hose sub-assembly.
      • Make sure not to cut the O-ring while installing it. (Cut O-rings cannot be installed)
  3. CONNECT LIQUID TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY A 
    1. Remove the vinyl tape from the liquid tube sub-assembly A and the connecting part of the cooler condenser assembly.
    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the tube joint.

      Compressor Oil

      ND-OIL 11 or equivalent

      NOTE:

      Do not use any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent. If any compressor oil other than ND-OIL 11 or equivalent is used, compressor motor insulation performance may decrease, resulting in leakage of electric power.

    3. Install the O-ring to the liquid tube sub-assembly A.

      NOTE:

      Keep the O-rings and O-ring fitting surfaces free of foreign matter.

    4. Connect the liquid tube sub-assembly A and No. 1 cooler refrigerant hose bracket to the cooler condenser assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the liquid tube sub-assembly A.
      • Make sure not to cut the O-ring while installing it. (Cut O-rings cannot be installed)
  4. CONNECT NO. 3 INVERTER COOLING HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 3 inverter cooling hose with its marking aligned with the positioning rib as shown in the illustration and install the hose clips within the range shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the radiator assembly (for inverter coolant) or No. 3 inverter cooling hose.
      • Make sure the hose is securely inserted to the stopper. However, If the end of the hose is cut diagonally, it is acceptable for the entire circumference of the tip to not contact the stopper.
      • Install the hose clips 2 to 5 mm (0.0787 to 0.1969 in.) away from the end of the hose.

  5. CONNECT NO. 2 INVERTER COOLING HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 2 inverter cooling hose with its marking aligned with the positioning rib as shown in the illustration and install the hose clips within the range shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Do not apply excessive force to the radiator assembly (for inverter coolant) or No. 2 inverter cooling hose.
      • Make sure the hose is securely inserted to the stopper. However, If the end of the hose is cut diagonally, it is acceptable for the entire circumference of the tip to not contact the stopper.
      • Install the hose clips 2 to 5 mm (0.0787 to 0.1969 in.) mm away from the end of the hose.

  6. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT 
    1. Attach the upper radiator support to the 2 radiator support cushions and install the upper radiator support with the 5 bolts as shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 12.5 N.m (127 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf)

      NOTE:

      When installing the upper radiator support, do not damage the cooler condenser assembly, radiator assembly (for Inverter coolant) and radiator assembly.

    2. Attach the clamp to connect the engine room main wire.

  7. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly RH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 49 N.m (500 kgf/cm, 36 ft.lbf) 

  8. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSSMEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the radiator support to crossmember brace sub-assembly LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 49 N.m (500 kgf/cm, 36 ft.lbf) 

  9. INSTALL LOWER ARM BRACKET BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the lower arm bracket brace sub-assembly RH with the 2 bolts.

      Install in this Direction

      Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

    2. Connect the connector.

  10. INSTALL LOWER ARM BRACKET BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Install the lower arm bracket brace sub-assembly LH with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf/cm, 15 ft.lbf) 

  11. INSTALL LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  12. INSTALL HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  13. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  14. INSTALL HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER RH 
    1. Attach the clamp and install the hood lock control cable cover RH.

  15. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [01/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  17. ADD COOLANT (for Inverter) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  18. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for Inverter) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  19. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER REINFORCEMENT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [01/2017 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 12 [11/2021 - ]

  20. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [01/2017 - 05/2023]

  21. INSPECT FITTING OF HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  22. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  23. INSTALL HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  24. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  25. WARM UP COMPRESSOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  26. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  27. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [01/2017 - 01/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [01/2021 - 05/2023]

  28. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK 

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [01/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - ]

  29. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    Refer to OPERATION CHECK [01/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [04/2020 - ]
