Installation [03/2017 - 05/2023]: Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 2024 Lexus LC 500, 2023 Lexus LC 500, 2022 Lexus LC 500, 2021 Lexus LC 500, and 2020 Lexus LC 500. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER 
    1. Apply protective tape around the front bumper cover.

      Install in this Direction
      Protective Tape
    2. Attach the claws to temporarily install the front bumper cover.
      NOTE:

      Do not damage the front bumper cover.

    3. Fold back a part of edge of the front fender liner LH, connect the connector of the front turn signal light assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      When folding back the edge of the front fender liner LH, do not pull too hard.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    4. Attach the claws to install the front bumper cover as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction (1)
      Install in this Direction (2)

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    5. Remove the protective tape.
    6. Connect the connector of the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.

    7. Attach the clips and install the radiator grille protector.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      Install in this Direction
    8. Install the 2 clips and 4 bolts.

      Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf/cm, 66 in.lbf) 

    9. Install the 8 screws.

    10. Install the front side bumper retainer.

      Install in this Direction

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

      1. Attach the clips to install the front side bumper retainer LH as shown in the illustration.
      2. Install the screw.
      3. Install the clip to the front fender liner.
    11. Install the front bumper cover with the 3 pin hold clips.

      *a Correct
      *b Incorrect
      NOTE:
      • Insert the pin hold clip with the slot aligned vertically.
      • Do not rotate the pin hold clip after inserting it.

      HINT: 

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  2. INSTALL LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR

    1. Attach the guide.
    2. Install the lower radiator air deflector with the 5 clips.
  3. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH

    2. Install the radiator support to frame seal LH with the 6 clips.
  4. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL RH

    2. Install the radiator support to frame seal RH with the 6 clips.
  5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  6. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK 
    1. When removing and installing the No. 2 front bumper mounting bracket:

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2020 - ]

  7. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. When removing and installing the No. 2 front bumper mounting bracket:

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [04/2020 - ]

  8. HEADLIGHT AIMING 
    1. When removing and installing the headlight assembly:

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [03/2017 - ]
