Operation Method [03/2017 - ]: Procedure

- SECURE VEHICLE
- Apply the parking brake.
- Turn the engine switch off and use wheel chocks to secure the vehicle.WARNING:
During power failure, make sure use wheel chocks to secure the vehicle as the parking brake cannot be used.
- PARKING LOCK FORCED RELEASE
- Remove the remote operation controller assembly.
Refer to REMOVAL [03/2017 - 05/2023] , or refer to REMOVAL [05/2023 - ]
- While the brake pedal is depressed, use a tool to turn the hexagonal portion approximately 60° clockwise and release the parking lock.NOTE:
- If excessively large amounts of torque is applied, parts may be damaged.
- If rotated in the opposite direction, parts may be damaged.
HINT:
- Torque required to release lock: Approx. 9.0 N.m (92 kgf/cm, 80 in.lbf)
- After it is released, the hexagonal portion will return to its original position but the parking lock will stay released.
Release Parking Lock
- Remove the remote operation controller assembly.
- PARKING LOCK
- After finishing the procedure, press the parking switch with the engine switch turned on (IG) to activate the parking lock.
