Disassembly [03/2017 - 06/2019]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING CLIP 
    1. Remove the 5 No. 1 windshield outside moulding clips.

      Remove in this Direction

      HINT: 

      Do not reuse the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clips.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 OUTSIDE MOULDING RETAINER 
    1. Remove the 11 No. 1 outside moulding retainers.

      Remove in this Direction

      HINT: 

      Do not reuse the No. 1 outside moulding retainers.

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD LH 

    HINT: 

    When removing the front fender outside moulding pad LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the front fender outside moulding pad LH and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  4. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CLIP 

    HINT: 

    When removing the roof drip side finish moulding clip, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the roof drip side finish moulding clip and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  5. REMOVE UPPER WINDOW MOULDING JOINT COVER 

    HINT: 

    When removing the upper window moulding joint cover, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the upper window moulding joint cover and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

    2. Remove the butyl tape.

      HINT: 

      Remove any remaining butyl tape from the rear roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH.

  6. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR EXTENSION BELT MOULDING 

    HINT: 

    When removing the center pillar extension belt moulding, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the center pillar extension belt moulding and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  7. REMOVE REAR ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH 

    HINT: 

    When removing the rear roof drip side finish moulding LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the rear roof drip side finish moulding LH and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT FENDER MOULDING JOINT 

    HINT: 

    When removing the No. 1 front fender moulding joint, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the No. 1 front fender moulding joint and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  9. REMOVE UPPER BACK WINDOW MOULDING JOINT COVER RH 

    HINT: 

    When removing the upper back window moulding joint cover RH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the upper back window moulding joint cover RH and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  10. REMOVE UPPER BACK WINDOW MOULDING JOINT COVER LH

  11. REMOVE NO. 1 GRILLE OPENING MOULDING END COVER 

    HINT: 

    When removing the No. 1 grille opening moulding end cover, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the No. 1 grille opening moulding end cover and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  12. REMOVE ROOF TOP MOULDING 

    HINT: 

    When removing the roof top moulding, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the roof top moulding and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE PANEL MOULDING LH 

    HINT: 

    When removing the No. 1 side panel moulding LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the No. 1 side panel moulding LH and roof side rail garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

  14. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CLIP LH 
    1. Insert a 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) drill bit into a drill.
    2. Tape the 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) drill bit 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip as shown in the illustration.

      A 5.0 mm (0.197 in.)
      NOTE:

      Tape the 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

    3. Apply protective tape around the roof drip side finish moulding clip LH.

    4. Lightly press the drill bit against the rivets to drill off the rivet flanges, and remove the 2 rivets.

      WARNING:

      Be careful of the drilled rivets, as they may be hot.

      NOTE:
      • Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
      • Prying the rivets with the drill may damage the rivet installation holes or drill bit.
    5. Remove the roof drip side finish moulding clip LH from the front pillar.
    6. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.
