Reassembly [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL NO. 6 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR 

    HINT: 

    When installing the No. 6 rocker panel moulding protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH using a heat light.

    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    1. When reusing the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH:
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH surface.
      2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
        NOTE:
        • Installing the No. 6 rocker panel moulding protector with some double-sided tape remaining may cause poor adhesion. Perform this procedure until the tape is sufficiently removed.
        • Make sure to use a cloth when removing. Using a screwdriver, etc., may cause damage and poor adhesion.
        • Also, clean a new body rocker panel moulding assembly LH surface.
    2. Remove the release paper of a new No. 6 rocker panel moulding protector trying not to touch the adhesional surface.
      NOTE:

      After removing the peeling paper, do not touch the surface of the tape with your fingers or cotton work gloves.

    3. Install the No. 6 rocker panel moulding protector in the position shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      The application strength of the No. 6 rocker panel moulding protector will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

      HINT: 

      Apply pressure so that it does not lift up from the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR 

    HINT: 

    When installing the No. 1 rocker panel moulding protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH using a heat light.

  3. INSTALL NO. 2 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR 

    HINT: 

    When installing the No. 2 rocker panel moulding protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH using a heat light.

  4. INSTALL NO. 4 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR

  5. INSTALL NO. 3 ROCKER PANEL MOULDING PROTECTOR 

    HINT: 

    When installing the No. 3 rocker panel moulding protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH using a heat light.

  6. INSTALL REAR BUMPER PAD 

    HINT: 

    When installing the rear bumper pad, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH using a heat light.

    1. When reusing the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH:
      1. Using a heat light, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH surface.
      2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH.

        • Installing the rear bumper pad with some double-sided tape remaining may cause poor adhesion. Perform this procedure until the tape is sufficiently removed.
        • Make sure to use a cloth when removing. Using a screwdriver, etc., may cause damage and poor adhesion.
        • Also, clean a new body rocker panel moulding assembly LH surface.
    2. Apply primer to the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH on the installation area of the rear bumper pad using a brush or felt.

      Primer
      NOTE:
      • Replace the brush or felt if it is dirty or has become hardened.
      • Keep any painted surface free from primer.
      • If the primer contacts a painted surface, it may leave light primer marks. Therefore, use protective tape when using liquid primer.
      • Do not touch surfaces to which primer has been applied until the rear bumper pad has been attached.
    3. Let the primer dry sufficiently.
      NOTE:

      Do not touch applied surfaces until the primer is dry.

      Recommended drying time

      10 minutes or more (at 23°C (73°F))

    4. Remove the release paper of a new rear bumper pad trying not to touch the adhesional surface.
      NOTE:

      After removing the peeling paper, do not touch the surface of the tape with your fingers or cotton work gloves.

    5. Install the rear bumper pad in the position shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      The application strength of the rear bumper pad will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

  7. INSTALL NO. 2 SIDE MUDGUARD PROTECTOR 

    HINT: 

    When installing the No. 2 side mudguard protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH using a heat light.

    3. Align the 2 No. 2 side mudguard protectors to the end of vehicle front side rib and install it.

      The application strength of the No. 2 side mudguard protector will weaken if reapplied. If reapplication is necessary, be sure to replace it with a new one.

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE MUDGUARD PROTECTOR 

    HINT: 

    When installing the No. 1 side mudguard protector, heat the body rocker panel moulding assembly LH using a heat light.
