- INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (TRIP SWITCH)
- Check the resistance.

*1 Up switch *2 Down switch *a Component without harness connected
(Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 5 (RV) - 7 (E) Up switch pressed Below 1 Ω Up switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher Down switch pressed 1.7 to 1.9 kΩ Down switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Check illumination.

(Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.

Tester Connection Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) → 3 (ILL+)
Auxiliary battery positive (-) → 8 (ILL-)Illuminates If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).
- Apply auxiliary battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.
- Check the resistance.
