Inspection [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FRONT OIL PUMP BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the front oil pump drive gear with 2 screwdrivers and check that it rotates smoothly.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the lip of the front oil pump oil seal.

  2. INSPECT CLEARANCE OF FRONT OIL PUMP BODY AND GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the body clearance:
      1. Pull the front oil pump driven gear to one side of the front oil pump body sub-assembly.

      2. Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance.

        Standard Clearance

        0.12 to 0.17 mm (0.00472 to 0.00669 in.)

        Maximum Clearance

        0.17 mm (0.00669 in.)

        If the clearance is greater than the maximum, replace the front oil pump drive gear, front oil pump driven gear and front oil pump body sub-assembly.

    2. Inspect the side clearance:
      1. Using a straightedge and feeler gauge, measure the side clearance of both gears.

        Standard Side Clearance

        0.025 to 0.04 mm (0.000984 to 0.00157 in.)

        Maximum Side Clearance

        0.04 mm (0.00157 in.)

        Front Oil Pump Driven Gear Thickness

        35322-48030 C 10.299 to 10.305

        (0.40575 to 0.40598)

        If the clearance is greater than the maximum, replace the front oil pump drive gear, front oil pump driven gear and front oil pump body sub-assembly.

  3. INSPECT FRONT OIL PUMP BODY SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a caliper gauge, measure the inside diameter of the front oil pump body sub-assembly bushing.

      Standard Inside Diameter

      43.135 to 43.160 mm (1.69822 to 1.69921 in.)

      Maximum Inside Diameter

      43.160 mm (1.69921 in.)

      If the inside diameter is greater than the maximum, replace the front oil pump body sub-assembly.

  4. INSPECT STATOR SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a caliper gauge, measure the inside diameter of the stator shaft assembly.

      Standard Inside Diameter

      22.500 to 22.526 mm (0.88583 to 0.88685 in.)

      Maximum Inside Diameter

      22.526 mm (0.88685 in.)

      If the inside diameter is greater than the maximum, replace the stator shaft assembly.
