Removal [08/2016 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [09/2015 - 12/2017] , or refer to PRECAUTION [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  2. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  4. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  5. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  6. REMOVE BATTERY 

    See step  6

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER FILTER ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - 12/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 38 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 38 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 39 [12/2017 - 08/2019]

  13. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. Remove the nut and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission control shaft lever.

    5. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly with clip from the No. 1 transmission control cable bracket.
    6. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the clip from the transmission control cable assembly.

    7. Disengage the 2 clamps.

    8. Turn back the floor carpet.

    9. Remove the 3 bolts and transmission control cable assembly from the cabin.
