Adjustment [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.
      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to N, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.

  2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2015 - 12/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

  3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 38 [09/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 38 [08/2016 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 38 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 [08/2019 - ]

  4. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (for TMC Made) 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. Slide the slider of the transmission control cable assembly and pull the lock piece outward as shown in the illustration.

      *d Pull
    5. Engage the 2 claws to connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely connected.

    6. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.

      *a Lock Piece
      *b Adjuster Case
      NOTE:
      • Check that the lock piece is pulled out.
      • Push the end of the transmission control cable assembly all the way to the base of the transmission floor shift assembly pin.
      • Connect the transmission control cable assembly so that the lock piece faces the driver side.
    7. Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the park/neutral position switch assembly and the shift lever are in neutral.
      • Securely push in the lock piece until the slider lock is engaged.
    8. After adjusting the shift lever position, check the position and operation of the shift lever. If there is a problem, adjust the shift lever position again.
  5. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION (for TMMC Made) 
    1. Move the shift lever to N.
    2. Disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the transmission control cable assembly from the transmission floor shift assembly.

    4. Slide the cover of the transmission control cable assembly and pull the lock piece outward as shown in the illustration.

    5. Engage the 2 claws to connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the transmission control cable assembly is securely connected.

    6. Connect the transmission control cable assembly to the transmission floor shift assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Check that the lock piece is pulled out.
      • Push the end of the transmission control cable assembly all the way to the base of the transmission floor shift assembly pin.
      • Connect the transmission control cable assembly so that the lock piece faces the driver side.
    7. Using your fingers, gently pull the cable rod towards the rear of the vehicle to remove backlash.
    8. Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the park/neutral position switch assembly and the shift lever are in neutral.

    9. Slide the cover of the transmission control cable assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Slide the cover until it passes over the protrusion of the lock piece.
      • If the cover is not slid far enough so that the cover engages the lock piece, the cable will not be able to lock, and reliable shift operation will not be possible.

    10. After adjusting the shift lever position, check the position and operation of the shift lever. If there is a problem, adjust the shift lever position again.
  6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [09/2015 - 12/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2019 - ]

  7. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - 12/2017] , or refer to INSTALLATION [12/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to INSTALLATION [08/2019 - ]
