Removal [08/2016 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [08/2016 - 08/2019]

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR 
    1. for Bar Type Radiator Grille:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

        HINT: 

        The illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

      2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor as shown in the illustration.

        Remove in this Direction

        HINT: 

        The illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

    2. for Mesh Type Radiator Grille:
      1. Disconnect the connector.

        HINT:

      2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor as shown in the illustration.

        Remove in this Direction

        HINT:

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the connector.

      HINT: 

      The illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor as shown in the illustration.

      Remove in this Direction

      HINT: 

      The illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (for Bar Type Radiator Grille) 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer is necessary.
    • When removing the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer, heat the front bumper assembly and No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.
    1. for TMMC Made:
      1. Heat the front bumper assembly and No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light at the specified temperature for 3 to 5 minutes.

        Heating Temperature

        Item Temperature
        Front Bumper Assembly 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
        No. 1 Ultrasonic Sensor Retainer
        WARNING:
        • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
        • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
        • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

      2. Remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER 

    HINT: 

    • Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer is necessary.
    • When removing the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer, heat the front bumper assembly and No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light.
    1. Heat the front bumper assembly and No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer using a heat light at the specified temperature for 3 to 5 minutes.

      Heating Temperature

      No. 2 Ultrasonic Sensor Retainer
      WARNING:
      • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
