Removal [03/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [11/2021 - ]
  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [03/2024 - ]
  5. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [03/2024 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  8. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  9. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  10. REMOVE AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  11. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - ]

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    WARNING:

    To prevent serious injury due to fuel spray from the high-pressure fuel lines, always discharge fuel system pressure before removing any fuel system components.

      1. Using a 17 mm union nut wrench, loosen the 2 union nuts of the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly.
      2. Loosen the 2 bolts of the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.
      3. Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly and fuel (engine room side) pump assembly.
  13. REMOVE FUEL (ENGINE ROOM SIDE) PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    When replacing the fuel (engine room side) pump assembly, it is necessary to replace the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly with a new one.

  14. REMOVE FUEL PUMP SPACER GASKET
