Removal [03/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [11/2021 - ]

  2. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 

    Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - ]

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [03/2024 - ]
  5. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [03/2024 - ]

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  8. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  9. REMOVE PURGE VALVE (PURGE VSV) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  10. REMOVE AIR TUBE ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
  11. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY GUARD

  12. REMOVE EFI FUEL PIPE CLAMP

  13. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe.

        Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - ]

  14. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE 
    NOTE:

    If fuel intrudes into the combustion chamber, there may be adverse effects to the engine main body.

      1. Remove the 2 bolts and fuel delivery pipe with the 4 port fuel injector assemblies from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
        NOTE:

        Be careful not to drop the port fuel injector assemblies when removing the fuel delivery pipe.

  15. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY SPACER

  16. REMOVE INJECTOR VIBRATION INSULATOR

  17. REMOVE NO. 5 ENGINE WIRE

  18. REMOVE PORT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    • Attach a tag or label with the corresponding cylinder number to each port fuel injector assembly so that they can be installed to their original locations.
    • Cover the port fuel injector assemblies with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.
