Installation [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 GROUND WIRE 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  3. INSTALL TRANSFER ASSEMBLY

      1. Install the transfer assembly to the automatic transmission assembly with the 8 bolts.

        Torque: 40 N.m (408 kgf/cm, 30 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        When installing the transfer assembly to the automatic transmission assembly, make sure that the automatic transmission assembly and oil seal do not become damaged.

  4. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS AND TRANSFER BREATHER HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
  5. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 

    Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

  6. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 

    Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

  7. INSTALL REAR ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR

      *a Front Mark - -
      1. Install the rear engine mounting heat insulator to the rear engine mounting insulator as shown in the illustration.
      2. Make sure that the front mark is facing in the correct direction, and then install the rear engine mounting insulator to the transfer assembly with the 4 bolts.

        Torque: 59 N.m (602 kgf/cm, 44 ft.lbf) 

  8. INSTALL NO. 3 FRAME CROSSMEMBER ASSEMBLY

      Bolt Nut
      1. Install the No. 3 frame crossmember assembly with the 4 nuts and 4 bolts.

        Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf/cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

        NOTE:

        Make sure to install the nuts so that they are facing the rear of the vehicle.

        HINT: 

        Hold the bolts to tighten the nuts.

      2. Connect the rear engine mounting insulator to the No. 3 frame crossmember assembly with the 4 bolts.

        Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf/cm, 27 ft.lbf) 

      3. Attach the claw and install the No. 3 engine mounting hole cover to the No. 3 frame crossmember assembly.
  9. ADD TRANSFER OIL 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  10. INSTALL LOWER TRANSFER CASE PROTECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5

  11. INSTALL TRANSFER HEAT INSULATOR 

    Torque: 13.6 N.m (139 kgf/cm, 10 ft.lbf) 

  12. INSTALL TRANSMISSION UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  13. INSTALL REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2021 - ]

  14. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [12/2021 - ]
