Removal [12/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE QUARTER OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE:

    When removing the quarter outside moulding sub-assembly LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the quarter outside moulding sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

    Part Temperature
    Quarter Outside Moulding Sub-assembly LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the quarter outside moulding sub-assembly LH excessively.

      *a Double-sided Tape - -
      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction
      Screw Clip
      1. Put protective tape around the quarter outside moulding sub-assembly LH.
      2. Using a 4 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the screw.
      3. Remove the 2 clips.
      4. Heat the adhesive of the quarter outside moulding sub-assembly LH using a heat light.
      5. Place your hand at the positions shown in the illustration and detach the double-sided tape and clip in the order shown in the illustration.
      6. Using moulding remover B, detach the clip in the order shown in the illustration and remove the quarter outside moulding sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Detach the clip one by one.

  2. REMOVE QUARTER OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD 
    NOTE:

    When removing the quarter outside moulding pad, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the quarter outside moulding pad using a heat light.

    Quarter Outside Moulding Pad 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

    Do not heat the quarter outside moulding pad excessively.

      1. Heat the adhesive of the quarter outside moulding pad using a heat light.
      2. Remove the quarter outside moulding pad.
  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR LOWER OUTSIDE MOULDING SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE:

    When removing the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

    Rear Door Lower Outside Moulding Sub-assembly LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly LH excessively.

      *a Double-sided Tape - -
      Remove in this Direction Screw
      Clip - -
      1. Put protective tape around the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly LH.
      2. Using a 4 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the screw.
      3. Remove the 3 clips.
      4. Heat the adhesive of the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly LH using a heat light.
      5. Using moulding remover B, detach the clip and double-sided tape in the order shown in the illustration and remove the rear door lower outside moulding sub-assembly LH as shown in the illustration.
        NOTE:

        Detach the clip one by one.

  4. REMOVE BODY OUTSIDE MOULDING PAD 
    NOTE:

    When removing the body outside moulding pad, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the body outside moulding pad using a heat light.

    Body Outside Moulding Pad 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

      1. Heat the adhesive of the body outside moulding pad using a heat light.
      2. Remove the body outside moulding pad.
  5. REMOVE STEP PLATE COVER 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2021 - ] 

  6. REMOVE QUARTER PANEL WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH 
    NOTE:

    When removing the quarter panel wheel opening moulding LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the quarter panel wheel opening moulding LH using a heat light.

    Quarter Panel Wheel Opening Moulding LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.

      Remove in this Direction Screw
      Grommet - -
      1. Using a clip remover with its tip wrapped with protective tape, detach the clip.
      2. Remove the screw.
      3. Remove the grommet.
      4. Heat the adhesive of the quarter panel wheel opening moulding LH using a heat light.
      5. Detach the double-sided tape and remove the quarter panel wheel opening moulding LH as shown in the illustration.
