Front Air Massage Function does not Operate [10/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MALFUNCTIONING PARTS 
    1. Check the problem symptoms.

  2. CHECK MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 
    1. Check that each function of the refreshing seat operates normally.

  3. INSPECT LUMBAR SUPPORT PUMP SUB-ASSEMBLY (LH) 
    1. Remove the lumbar support pump sub-assembly (LH).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    2. Inspect the lumbar support pump sub-assembly (LH).

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE LUMBAR SUPPORT PUMP SUB-ASSEMBLY (LH). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - LUMBAR SUPPORT PUMP SUB-ASSEMBLY (LH)) 
    1. Disconnect the Q28 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S10 lumbar support pump sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q28-4 (POM) - S10-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q28-3 (POMG) - S10-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q28-4 (POM) or S10-1 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q28-3 (POMG) or S10-2 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CHECK VALVE (LH) - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S12 lumbar support adjuster assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q30 seat check with hose valve LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S12-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Q30-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S12-3 (SYSB) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V
      Q30-3 (SYSB) - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SEAT CHECK VALVE (LH)) 
    1. Disconnect the Q28 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S12 lumbar support adjuster assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q30 seat check with hose valve LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the S11 seatback check with bracket valve LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q28-7 (LIN) - S12-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q28-7 (LIN) - Q30-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q28-7 (LIN) or S12-5 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q28-7 (LIN) or Q30-5 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2023 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  7. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Active Test

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

    2. Inspect the lumbar support pump sub-assembly (RH).

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2017 - ]

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - LUMBAR SUPPORT PUMP SUB-ASSEMBLY (RH)) 
    1. Disconnect the Q8 No. 2 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S2 lumbar support pump sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q8-4 (POM) - S2-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q8-3 (POMG) - S2-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q8-4 (POM) or S2-1 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q8-3 (POMG) or S2-2 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    2. Disconnect the Q10 seat check with hose valve RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S4-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Q10-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S4-3 (SYSB) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Q10-3 (SYSB) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 POSITION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - SEAT CHECK VALVE (RH)) 
    1. Disconnect the Q8 No. 2 position control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the S4 lumbar support adjuster assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q10 seat check with hose valve RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the S3 seatback check with bracket valve RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q8-7 (LIN) - S4-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q28-7 (LIN) - Q10-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q8-7 (LIN) or S4-5 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q8-7 (LIN) or Q10-5 - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
