Adjustment [10/2020 - 10/2023]: Procedure
- INSPECT AND ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL HEIGHT
HINT:
- Inspect and adjust the brake pedal height with the floor carpet folded back.
- Perform the inspection from the service hole in the dash panel insulator.
- Check the brake pedal height.
- Measure the shortest distance between the brake pedal pad surface and front floor footrest as shown in the illustration.

184.9 to 194.9 mm (7.28 to 7.67 in.)
If the brake pedal height is not as specified, inspect and adjust the push rod length according to the procedure below.
- Measure the shortest distance between the brake pedal pad surface and front floor footrest as shown in the illustration.
- Adjust the push rod length.
- Remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.

- Remove the steering column assembly.

- Remove the stop light switch assembly.

- Loosen the lock nut and adjust the brake pedal height by turning the push rod to achieve the correct height.
Brake Pedal Height from Front Floor Footrest
184.9 to 194.9 mm (7.28 to 7.67 in.)
- Tighten the lock nut.
w/ Advanced Park
Torque: 25.5 N.m (260 kgf/cm, 19 ft.lbf)
w/o Advanced Park
Torque: 26 N.m (265 kgf/cm, 19 ft.lbf)
- Install the stop light switch assembly.

- Install the steering column assembly.
Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2020 - 10/2023]
- Install the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to INSTALLATION [11/2021 - 10/2022] , or refer to INSTALLATION [10/2022 - 10/2023]
- Remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
- ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY

- PERFORM CALIBRATION (w/ Advanced Park)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [10/2020 - 11/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [11/2021 - 10/2023]
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION AND CALIBRATION OF LINEAR SOLENOID VALVE (w/o Advanced Park)

- INSPECT BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY
- Depress the brake pedal until a slight resistance is felt. Measure the distance as shown in the illustration.

1.0 to 6.0 mm (0.0394 to 0.236 in.)
If the brake pedal free play is not as specified, check the stop light switch clearance.

If the brake pedal free play is as specified, proceed to the Inspect Brake Pedal Reserve Distance procedure.
- Depress the brake pedal until a slight resistance is felt. Measure the distance as shown in the illustration.
- INSPECT BRAKE PEDAL RESERVE DISTANCE
HINT:
- Inspect and adjust the brake pedal height with the floor carpet folded back.
- Perform the inspection from the service hole in the dash panel insulator.
- With the power switch on (READY), depress the brake pedal and measure the brake pedal reserve distance as shown in the illustration.

105 mm (4.13 in.) or more

122 mm (4.80 in.) or more
If the distance is not as specified, troubleshoot the brake system.
