Removal [09/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SEAL LH (w/ Front Suspension Member Brace) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  2. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SEAL RH (w/ Front Suspension Member Brace) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Front Suspension Member Brace) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  4. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Front Suspension Member Brace) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  7. REMOVE STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  8. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID 
    1. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, remove the drain plug from the transmission oil pan sub-assembly and drain the automatic transmission fluid.

      NOTE:

      The overflow plug and drain plug are located nearby one another. Make sure to remove the incorrect plug.

      *1 Drain Plug
      *2 Overflow Plug
      Front of Vehicle
    2. Remove the O-ring from the drain plug.
    3. Install a new O-ring to the drain plug.
    4. Using a 6 mm hexagon socket wrench, install the drain plug to the transmission oil pan sub-assembly.

      Torque: 40 N.m (408 kgf/cm, 30 ft.lbf) 

  9. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  10. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  11. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO FRAME SEAL RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  12. REMOVE LOWER RADIATOR AIR DEFLECTOR 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  13. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11

  14. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CROSS MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 17

  15. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  16. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH ELEMENT ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  17. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  18. REMOVE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  19. REMOVE NO. 4 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE (w/o Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler) 
    1. Detach the clamp and disconnect the No. 4 transmission oil cooler hose from the water by-pass hose.

    2. Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the No. 4 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler assembly and radiator assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.

  20. REMOVE NO. 2 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE (w/ Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler)

      Detach the clamp and disconnect the No. 2 transmission oil cooler hose from the water by-pass hose.

    2. Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the No. 2 transmission oil cooler hose from the oil cooler assembly and No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose.
      NOTE:

      Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.

  21. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the water by-pass hose from the oil cooler assembly and No. 3 radiator hose.

      NOTE:

      Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.

  22. DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  23. REMOVE NO. 3 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER HOSE (w/ Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler)

      Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 3 transmission oil cooler hose.

    2. Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the No. 3 transmission oil cooler hose from the No. 1 oil cooler tube sub-assembly without hose and No. 2 oil cooler assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not deform the No. 2 oil cooler assembly.

  24. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE (w/o Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler)

      Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose from the radiator assembly and No. 1 oil cooler inlet tube.

  25. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE (w/ Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler)

      Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose.

    2. Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose from the No. 2 oil cooler assembly and No. 1 oil cooler outlet tube.
      NOTE:

      Do not deform the No. 2 oil cooler assembly.

  26. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE (w/o Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler)

    1. Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler assembly and No. 1 oil cooler outlet tube.
      NOTE:

      Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.

  27. REMOVE NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE (w/ Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler) 
    1. Slide the 2 hose clips and remove the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose from the No. 1 oil cooler inlet tube and oil cooler assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.

  28. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Slide the hose clip and disconnect radiator hose sub-assembly from the oil cooler assembly.

      NOTE:

      Do not deform the oil cooler assembly.

  29. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the wire harness.

  30. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET 
    1. Remove the nut and wire harness clamp bracket.

  31. REMOVE OIL COOLER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 bolts and oil cooler assembly.

  32. REMOVE NO. 2 TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER BRACKET (w/ Air Cooled Transmission Oil Cooler) 
    1. Remove the nut and No. 2 transmission oil cooler bracket.

  33. REMOVE OIL COOLER BRACKET 
    1. Remove the 3 bolts and oil cooler bracket.
