Removal [05/2023 - ]: Procedure

NOTE:After the engine switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) battery terminal.

- REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY WARNING:
Deployment Side - When storing the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
- Check that the engine switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
*a Wire Harness Clamp - Detach the hooks and remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.
- Detach the wire harness clamp.
- Detach the claws to disconnect the DLC3.
- Tilt the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly toward the seat and support it with one hand.
*a Lock Button Release in this Direction Protective Tape - Using a screwdriver, release the lock button and disconnect the airbag connector.NOTE:
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
