Installation [03/2017 - 05/2023]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL RACK AND PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the 4 bolts and 4 nuts.

      Torque: 55 N.m (561 kgf/cm, 41 ft.lbf)

    2. Connect the wire harness clamp to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly with the bolt and nut.

      bolt: 

      Torque: 12.5 N.m (127 kgf/cm, 9 ft.lbf) 

      nut: 

      Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf/cm, 7 ft.lbf) 

    3. Connect the wire harness connector to the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly.

      HINT: 

      When connecting the connector with lock lever, return the lock lever to its original position and securely push in the lock of the lock lever as shown in the illustration.

  2. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the tie rod assembly LH to the front lower ball joint assembly with the nut.

      Torque: 60 N.m (612 kgf/cm, 44 ft.lbf) 

    2. Install a new clip.
      NOTE:

      Further tighten the nut up to 60° if the holes for the clip are not aligned.

  3. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT: 

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  4. CONNECT STEERING SLIDING WITH SHAFT YOKE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering sliding with shaft yoke sub-assembly with the matchmarks on the power steering link assembly.

      *a Matchmark
    2. Install the bolt (B) and tighten the bolt (A).

      Torque: 35.3 N.m (360 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf)

  5. INSTALL STRUT BAR BRACKET SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 132 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 132 [06/2019 - 05/2023]

  6. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 133 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 133 [06/2019 - 05/2023]

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 134 [03/2017 - 06/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 134 [06/2019 - 05/2023]

  8. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [03/2017 - 05/2023]

  9. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    NOTE:
  11. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK BOARD 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [03/2017 - 01/2021] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13 [01/2021 - ]

  12. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [03/2017 - 04/2020] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [04/2020 - 05/2023]

  13. ROTATION ANGLE SENSOR INITIALIZATION AND TORQUE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 

    Refer to CALIBRATION [03/2017 - ]

  14. PERFORM VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM CALIBRATION (w/ VGRS) 

    Refer to CALIBRATION [03/2017 - ]
