Luggage Compartment Door Opener does not Operate [04/2013 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. Check power door lock control system operation.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [04/2013 - ]

      OK

      Power door lock control system is normal.

      Result

    Result:

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2013 - ]

  2. CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. Check wireless door lock control system operation.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [04/2013 - ]

      OK

      Wireless door lock control system is normal.

    Result:

    GO TO WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [04/2013 - ]

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TRUNK AND BACK-DOOR OPEN) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TRUNK/BDOOR OPEN SW, TRUNK MAIN SW, LUGGAGE COURTESY SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TR/B-DOOR UNLOCK SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Smart Access > Data List

  6. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) 
    1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

    2. Check that the luggage door opener system is normal.

      OK

      Luggage door opener system is normal.

  7. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the luggage door opening switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2020]

    2. Inspect the luggage door opening switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - 09/2020]

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) - LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K1 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the K91 luggage door opening switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K1-5 (TSW) - K91-4 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      K91-1 (L) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K1-5 (TSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K91-4 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly.

    2. Inspect the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - ]

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) - LUGGAGE DOOR OPENING CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K2 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Disconnect the K92 luggage door opening cancel switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K2-17 (TMSW) - K92-2 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      K92-1 (L) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K2-17 (TMSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K92-2 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  11. INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door lock assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

    2. Inspect the luggage compartment door lock assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [04/2013 - ]

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the Q49 luggage compartment door lock assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the 4D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q49-3 (D+) - 4D-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q49-1 (B) - 4D-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      Q49-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Q49-3 (D+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Q49-1 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      4D-16 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      4D-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
