Reassembly [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH 
    1. Engage the clip as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the front bumper side retainer LH with the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf/cm, 48 in.lbf)

  2. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT 
    1. Install the front bumper reinforcement with the 14 bolts.

      Torque: 29 N.m (296 kgf/cm, 21 ft.lbf)

  4. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER 
    1. Engage the 2 guides to install the front bumper energy absorber.

  5. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SIDE MOULDING LH 
    1. Engage the 2 guides and 2 claws.

    2. Install the radiator grille side moulding LH with the 3 screws.

  6. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SIDE MOULDING RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL FRONT CENTER ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ Parking Support Brake System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  8. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 11 claws.

    2. Install the radiator grille sub-assembly with the 17 screws.

  9. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE (OR FRONT PANEL) EMBLEM 
    1. Engage the guide and 4 claws.

    2. Install the radiator grille (or front panel) emblem with the screw.

  10. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR GRILLE 
    1. Engage the 3 guides.

    2. Install the 6 screws.

    3. Install the upper radiator grille with the 7 screws.

  11. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR 
    1. Engage the 14 clips to install the radiator grille protector.

  12. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER HOLE COVER LH 
    1. Engage the hook.

      *a Hook
    2. Engage the 4 claws to install the front bumper hole cover LH.
  13. INSTALL ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP 

    HINT: 

    When installing the ultrasonic sensor clip, heat the front bumper cover using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature

    Front Bumper Cover 20 to 30 °C (68 to 86 °F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the front bumper cover excessively.

    1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove the double-sided tape from the front bumper cover.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the ultrasonic sensor clip installation area.

      Primer
    3. Install a new ultrasonic sensor clip.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove the release paper from the ultrasonic sensor clip.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      3. Install each ultrasonic sensor clip as shown in the illustration.

        HINT: 

        • Install the ultrasonic sensor clip within the line on the front bumper cover.
        • Press the ultrasonic sensor clip firmly to install it.
  14. INSTALL NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    1. Clean the installation surface of the No. 1 moulding tape.
      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the front bumper cover.
        NOTE:
        • If there is any foreign matter on the front bumper cover when the No. 1 moulding tape is installed, adhesion failure may occur.
        • Do not use a screwdriver or other tool to remove the double-sided tape as the front bumper cover may be damaged, possibly leading to adhesion failure.
      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Install a new No. 1 moulding tape.
      WARNING:
      • Do not touch the heat light, as doing so may cause in burns.
      • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

      HINT: 

      If the temperature of the No. 1 moulding tape or its installation surface on the front bumper cover is below 15°C (59°F), adhesion failure may occur. Use a heat light to heat the No. 1 moulding tape and its installation surface on the front bumper cover to the recommended temperature (15 to 40°C (59 to 104°F)).

      1. Remove the release paper from a new No. 1 moulding tape.

        HINT: 

        After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      2. Install the No. 1 moulding tape to the front bumper cover as shown in the illustration.

        NOTE:

        If the No. 1 moulding tape has been removed, it must be replaced with a new one as it may be deformed or the strength of its adhesive may be deteriorated.

        HINT: 

        Make sure not to touch the exposed adhesive of the No. 1 moulding tape or the installation surface on the front bumper cover.

      3. Using a squeegee, evenly press the No. 1 moulding tape to the front bumper cover with a force of 29 N (3 kgf, 6.5 lbf) or more.

        HINT: 

        • Make sure that the corners of the No. 1 moulding tape are not damaged or peeling off.
        • After installing the No. 1 moulding tape, leave the front bumper cover in an area with an ambient temperature of 15°C (59°F) or more for 30 minutes or more to allow the adhesive to set.
      4. Remove the protector sheet from the No. 1 moulding tape.
  15. INSTALL LOWER RADIATOR GRILLE LH 
    1. Engage the 3 claws.

    2. Install the lower radiator grille LH with the screw.

  16. INSTALL LOWER RADIATOR GRILLE RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  17. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT EXTENSION LH 

    HINT: 

    When installing the front bumper reinforcement extension LH, heat the front bumper cover using a heat light.

    HEATING TEMPERATURE

    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.
      1. Using a heat light, heat the front bumper cover surface.
      2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the front bumper cover.
      3. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.
    2. Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the front bumper reinforcement extension LH installation area.
      NOTE:
      • Use a clean brush or felt.
      • Do not touch the front bumper cover until the primer has dried.
    3. Remove the release paper from a new front bumper reinforcement extension LH.

      HINT: 

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    4. Install the front bumper reinforcement extension LH as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      Press the front bumper reinforcement extension LH firmly to install it.

  18. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT EXTENSION RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  19. INSTALL NO. 2 COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT 
    1. Engage the 2 claws.

    2. Install the No. 2 cool air intake duct with the screw.

  20. INSTALL NO. 1 COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 2 cool air intake duct.

  21. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE BRACKET LH 
    1. Engage the claw.

    2. Install the front bumper side bracket LH with the 4 screws.

  22. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE BRACKET RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  23. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER EXTENSION MOUNTING BRACKET 
    1. Engage the 4 claws.

    2. Install the front bumper extension mounting bracket with the 2 screws.

  24. INSTALL CONNECTOR BRACKET (w/o Parking Support Brake System) 
    1. Engage the clamp to install the connector bracket.

    1. Engage the 12 clamps to install the No. 4 engine room wire.
