Terminals Of Ecu [08/2019 - ]

  1. COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the G3 and G101 combination meter assembly connectors.
    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      Terminal No. (Symbol) Wiring Color Terminal Description Condition Specified Condition
      G3-21 (B) - Body ground V - Body ground Battery Always 11 to 14 V
      G3-22 (IG+) - Body ground R - Body ground Engine switch signal Engine switch off Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      G101-1 (B) - Body ground R - Body ground Battery Always 11 to 14 V
      G3-20 (MGND) - Body ground BR - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
      G101-2 (E1) - Body ground W-B - Body ground Ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Reconnect the G3 and G101 combination meter assembly connectors.
    4. Measure the voltage and waveform according to the value(s) in the table below.

      G3-8 (RHUP) - Body ground B - Body ground Trip switch signal Engine switch on (IG), up switch of trip switch pushed Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), up switch of trip switch not pushed 11 to 14 V
      G3-12 (CHG-) - Body ground P - Body ground Charge warning light signal Engine switch on (IG), charge warning light on Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), charge warning light off 11 to 14 V
      G3-13 (RHDW) - Body ground P - Body ground Trip switch signal Engine switch on (IG), down switch of trip switch pushed Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), down switch of trip switch not pushed 11 to 14 V
      G3-14 (RSET) - Body ground P - Body ground ODO/TRIP switch signal Engine switch on (IG), ODO/TRIP switch pushed Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), ODO/TRIP switch not pushed 11 to 14 V
      G3-17 (+S) - Body ground R - Body ground Speed signal for other system (Output) Driving at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) Pulse generation

      G3-26 (L) - G3-2 (E3) B - W Fuel sender gauge signal Engine switch on (IG), fuel level full Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), fuel level low 4.5 to 5.5 V
      G3-29 (OIL) - Body ground G - Body ground Engine oil level sensor signal Engine switch on (IG), engine oil level warning light comes on Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), engine oil level warning light comes off 11 to 14 V
      G3-30 (WLVL) - Body ground W - Body ground Washer level warning signal Engine switch on (IG), level warning switch on Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), level warning switch off 11 to 14 V
      G3-31 (MSM+) - Body ground R - Body ground Steering pad switch signal Engine switch on (IG), enter, top and back switches on steering pad switch not pushed 4.3 to 5.2 V
      Engine switch on (IG), enter switch on steering pad switch pushed Below 0.6 V
      Engine switch on (IG), top switch on steering pad switch pushed 1.0 to 2.2 V
      Engine switch on (IG), back switch on steering pad switch pushed 2.3 to 3.4 V
      G3-32 (MSTI) - Body ground LG - Body ground Steering pad switch signal Engine switch on (IG), up, down, right and left switches on steering pad switch assembly not pushed 4.3 to 5.2 V
      Engine switch on (IG), left switch on steering pad switch pushed Below 0.6 V
      Engine switch on (IG), up switch on steering pad switch pushed 1.0 to 2.2 V
      Engine switch on (IG), down switch on steering pad switch pushed 2.3 to 3.4 V
      Engine switch on (IG), right switch on steering pad switch pushed 3.4 to 4.5 V
      G3-36 (INT) - Body ground SB - Body ground Tire pressure warning reset switch Engine switch on (IG), tire pressure warning reset switch on Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), tire pressure warning reset switch off 8 to 15 V
      G3-39 (CANL) - Body ground W - Body ground CAN communication line - -
      G3-40 (CANH) - Body ground V - Body ground CAN communication line - -
      G101-4 (ER) - Body ground P - Body ground RH turn indicator light signal (Input) Engine switch on (IG), RH turn signal switch on Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), RH turn signal switch off 11 to 14 V
      G101-5 (EL) - Body ground G - Body ground LH turn indicator light signal (Input) Engine switch on (IG), LH turn signal switch on Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), LH turn signal switch off 11 to 14 V
      G101-6 (S) - Body ground V - Body ground Engine oil pressure switch signal Engine switch on (IG), engine oil pressure warning light on Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), engine oil pressure warning light off 11 to 14 V
      G101-8 (LL) - Body ground P - Body ground LH turn indicator light signal (Output) Engine switch on (IG), LH turn indicator light off Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), LH turn indicator light blinking 11 to 14 V ←→ Below 1 V
      G101-9 (ILL-) - Body ground GR - Body ground Illumination signal Engine switch on (IG), headlight dimmer switch off Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), headlight dimmer switch in tail or head position Pulse generation
      G101-13 (LR) - Body ground G - Body ground RH turn indicator light signal (Output) Engine switch on (IG), RH turn indicator light off Below 1 V
      Engine switch on (IG), RH turn indicator light blinking 11 to 14 V ←→ Below 1 V
      1. Using an oscilloscope, check waveform.

        • G3-17 (+S) - Body ground
        • G3-18 (SI) - Body ground
        Tool setting 5 V/DIV., 20 ms./DIV.
        Vehicle condition Driving at approximately 20 km/h (12 mph)

        HINT: 

        When the system is functioning normally, one wheel revolution generates 4 pulses. As the vehicle speed increases, the width indicated by A in the illustration narrows.
