DTC C050C-1F: Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK VEHICLE 
    1. Check the vehicle specification.

      Result

      for AWD B

    Result: 

    REPLACE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [08/2021 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  2. CHECK REAR SPEED SENSOR LH (CHECK FOR FOREIGN MATTER) 
    1. Remove the rear speed sensor LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    2. Check the rear speed sensor LH.

      OK

      The rear speed sensor LH tip is free of oil and foreign matter.

      HINT: 

      If foreign matter of 1 mm x 1 mm or more is adhered to the rear speed sensor LH, this DTC may be stored.

      Result

  3. CHECK REAR SPEED SENSOR ROTOR LH (CHECK FOR FOREIGN MATTER) 
    1. Remove the component with the rear speed sensor rotor LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    2. Check the rear speed sensor rotor LH.

      OK

      The rear speed sensor rotor LH is free of oil and foreign matter.

      HINT: 

      If foreign matter of 1 mm x 1 mm or more is adhered to the rear speed sensor rotor LH, this DTC may be stored.

      Result

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH AND REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH 

    for rear speed sensor LH: Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    for rear speed sensor rotor LH (rear axle hub and bearing assembly LH): Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    Result: 

    NG

  4. CLEAN REAR SPEED SENSOR ROTOR LH 
    1. Clean the rear speed sensor rotor LH.
      NOTE:

      Do not use parts cleaner when cleaning the rear speed sensor rotor LH.

  5. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Operate the Techstream to clear the codes. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs 

    4. Press the DTC clear button.

      Result

      Proceed to

  6. PERFORM DEALER MODE (SIGNAL CHECK) INSPECTION (SPEED SENSOR CHECK) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Using the Techstream, perform a Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection sensor check and check that speed sensor Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection items change from incomplete to complete. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Utility / Signal Check.

      Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [08/2020 - ]

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Signal Check

      OK

      Speed sensor Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection items change from incomplete to complete.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR SPEED SENSOR LH AND REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY LH 

    for rear speed sensor LH: Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    for rear speed sensor rotor LH (rear axle hub and bearing assembly LH): Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - ]

    Result: 

    OK

  7. RECONFIRM DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Perform a road test under the same malfunction conditions recreated based on the Freeze Frame Data or customer problem analysis.
    4. Read the DTCs following the prompts on the Techstream. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Trouble Codes 

    5. Check if the same DTC is output.

      Result

      C050C-1F is output B

  8. CLEAN REAR SPEED SENSOR LH 
    1. Clean the rear speed sensor LH.
      NOTE:

      When cleaning the rear speed sensor LH, make sure to clean the installation hole before installation.

  9. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Operate the Techstream to clear the codes. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Trouble Codes.

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Clear DTCs 

    4. Press the DTC clear button.

      Result

      Proceed to

  10. PERFORM DEALER MODE (SIGNAL CHECK) INSPECTION (SPEED SENSOR CHECK) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Using the Techstream, perform a Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection sensor check and check that speed sensor Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection items change from incomplete to complete. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Brake/EPB / Utility / Signal Check.

      Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE [08/2020 - ]

      Chassis > Brake/EPB > Utility

      Speed sensor Dealer Mode (Signal Check) inspection items change from incomplete to complete.
