DTC B242F: Open in B Power Line [07/2019 - 10/2019]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS or AFS (Sub) / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Wait 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS or AFS (Sub) / Trouble Codes.
    6. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B242F is not output.

      Result

  4. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling or HL AutoLeveling (Sub) / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Clear DTCs 

      Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling (Sub) > Clear DTCs 

      Result

  5. CHECK FOR DTC

  6. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (ECUB TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

      1. Disconnect the A11 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A11-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 9.5 to 14 V
    2. For TMC Made or TMMK Made From Sep. 2019 Production

      1. Disconnect the A78 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. For TMMK Made Before Sep. 2019 Production
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        A11-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. For TMC Made or TMMK Made From Sep. 2019 Production
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        A78-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

  8. INSPECT H-LP LH RELAY 
    1. Inspect the H-LP LH relay.

      Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [06/2018 - ]

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP LH RELAY - HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. For TMMK Made Before Sep. 2019 Production
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        3 (H-LP LH relay) - A11-13 (ECUB) Always Below 1 Ω
        3 (H-LP LH relay) or A11-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. For TMC Made or TMMK Made From Sep. 2019 Production
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        3 (H-LP LH relay) - A78-13 (ECUB) Always Below 1 Ω
        3 (H-LP LH relay) or A78-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      5 (H-LP LH relay) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    1. Disconnect the 3F instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (H-LP LH relay) - 3F-31 Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (H-LP LH relay) or 3F-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  12. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3F-31 - MB-15 (HRLY) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [06/2018 - 08/2021]

  13. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (ECUB TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

      1. Disconnect the A12 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
      2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Inspect the H-LP RH relay.
