DTC C060E-19: Left Electric Parking Brake Actuator Circuit Current Above Threshold [08/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    3. Disconnect the kN2 and k2 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connectors.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *c (to Parking Brake Actuator Assembly LH) - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      kN2-1 - k2-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      kN2-1 or k2-2 (+) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher
      kN2-2 - k2-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      kN2-2 or k2-1 (-) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) - PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Make sure the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    3. Disconnect the A48 parking brake ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    4. Disconnect the k2 parking brake actuator assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A48-7 (MRL+) - k2-2 (+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-7 (MRL+) or k2-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A48-8 (MRL-) - k2-1 (-) Always Below 1 Ω
      A48-8 (MRL-) or k2-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

    Result

    Proceed to
    OK
    NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Make sure the No. 2 parking brake wire assembly is securely installed.
    3. Disconnect the k2 parking brake actuator assembly LH connector.
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      k2-2 (+) - k2-1 (-) Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

      Result

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

    NG

  5. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Disconnect the kN2 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      kN2-1 - kN2-2 Electric parking brake not operating Below 1 V

      Result

    REPLACE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    NG

  6. CHECK FOR SHORT TO +B 
    1. Disconnect the kN2 No. 2 parking brake wire assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A48 parking brake ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      kN2-2 or A48-8 (MRL-) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

    REPLACE PARKING BRAKE ECU (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]
