DTC C0500-14: Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit Short to Ground or Open [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Front Speed Sensor LH)

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A13 front speed sensor LH connector.
    3. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A13-6 (FL+) - A13-5 (FL-) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A38 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A13 front speed sensor LH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A13-5 (FL-) or A38-7 (FL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors.

      OK

      The connector is securely connected.

    2. Disconnect the A38 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.
    3. Disconnect the A13 front speed sensor LH connector.
    4. Check both the connector case and the terminals for deformation and corrosion.

      OK

      No deformation or corrosion.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A13-5 (FL-) - A38-7 (FL-) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
