DTC B242F: Open in B Power Line [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS or AFS (Sub) / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  3. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Wait 10 seconds or more.
    2. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS or AFS (Sub) / Trouble Codes.
    3. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B242F is not output.

      Result

  4. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

  6. INSPECT NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (ECUB TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

    (to No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH)
    1. Disconnect the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A15-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, Light control switch in head position 9.5 to 14 V

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      A15-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    2. Inspect the No. 1 integration relay.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

      Result

    REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      2B-1 - A15-13 (ECUB) Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the 4C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR HV MODEL

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2B-2 - 4C-31 Always Below 1 Ω
      2B-2 or 4C-31 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR GASOLINE MODEL

  12. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    2. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  13. INSPECT NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (ECUB TERMINAL VOLTAGE)

    (to No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH)
    1. Disconnect the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      A16-13 (ECUB) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, Light control switch in head position 9.5 to 14 V

      A16-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

  15. INSPECT NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY 
    1. Remove the No. 1 integration relay from the No. 1 engine room relay block.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    2. Inspect the No. 1 integration relay.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPLACE NO. 1 INTEGRATION RELAY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
