On-Vehicle Inspection [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect speedometer operation
      NOTE:
      • The combination meter assembly receives the vehicle speed signal from the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) via CAN communication. Therefore, perform the following inspection referring to values on the Data List of the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) because it is the source of the vehicle speed signal.*1
      • The combination meter assembly receives the vehicle speed signal from the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) via CAN communication. Therefore, perform the following inspection referring to values on the Data List of the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) because it is the source of the vehicle speed signal.*2
      • Data List values of the skid control ECU (brake booster with master cylinder assembly) are used for this inspection. Therefore, make sure to perform this inspection after confirming that DTCs are not output.*1

        1. *1: for HV Model
        2. *2: for Gasoline Model
      1. Warm up and stop the engine.
      2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC/ Data List.
      5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
        1. for HV Model:

        Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Data List

        Speedometer reading is within the acceptable range at each vehicle speed.

    2. Inspect tachometer operation
      1. Warm up the engine.
      2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
      5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

        Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

    3. Check warning or indicator light illumination (Initial check)
      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON from off, and check the operation of the warning and indicator lights in the following table.

        HINT: 

        The illumination of each warning light and indicator light varies.
