DTC B1508-19: Turn Signal/Hazard Flasher Circuit Current Above Threshold [10/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      All LH turn signal lights do not blink A
      All RH turn signal lights do not blink B

  2. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the N47 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the rear turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the rear combination light assembly LH is malfunctioning.

      Result

  3. CHECK REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Interchange the rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [10/2018 - ]

    2. Check that the rear turn signal light operates normally.

      OK

      Rear turn signal light blinks.

      Result

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [10/2018 - ]

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LED. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [10/2018 - ] 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH OR COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the F24 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N47-1 (TRN) or F24-11 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      NG

    1. Connect the N47 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Connect the F24 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the z20 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

  8. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Connect the z20 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A15 headlight assembly LH*1 connector.
    3. Disconnect the A19 headlight assembly LH*2 connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    1. Connect the A15 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F26 hazard warning signal switch assembly connector.
    3. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    3. Disconnect the F24 combination meter assembly connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  13. CHECK LH SIDE LIGHTS (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH)

    2. Connect the F24 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Disconnect the K8 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the side turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the outer rear view mirror assembly LH is malfunctioning.

    3. Disconnect the A19 headlight assembly LH*2 connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the LH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the LH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly LH is malfunctioning.

  31. CHECK RH SIDE LIGHTS (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Connect the J8 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A16 headlight assembly RH*1 connector.
    3. Disconnect the A20 headlight assembly RH*2 connector.
    4. Operate the headlight dimmer switch assembly and check that the RH side turn signal lights other than the headlight turn signal light blink.

      HINT: 

      If the RH side turn signal lights blink, the headlight assembly RH is malfunctioning.

    1. Disconnect the J8 outer rear view mirror assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the F24 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
