DTC B15C3-71: Speaker Output Short Actuator Stuck [07/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS 
    1. Check installed audio system and proceed to the following step.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - EACH SPEAKER, TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Disconnect the F4 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the J1 front No. 1 speaker assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the K1 front No. 1 speaker assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the G7 front No. 2 speaker assembly RH connector.
    5. Disconnect the G5 front No. 2 speaker assembly LH connector.
    6. Disconnect the L4 rear speaker assembly RH connector.
    7. Disconnect the M4 rear speaker assembly LH connector.
    8. Disconnect the F125 telematics transceiver connector.
    9. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F4-2 (FL+) or K1-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-2 (FL+) or G5-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-3 (RL+) or M4-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-4 (RR+) or L4-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-1 (FR+) or F125-1 (SPI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-7 (FL-) or K1-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-7 (FL-) or G5-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-8 (RL-) or M4-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-9 (RR-) or L4-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-6 (FR-) or F125-2 (SPI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER - FRONT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the J1 front No. 1 speaker assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the G7 front No. 2 speaker assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the F125 telematics transceiver connector.
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F125-3 (SPO+) or J1-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F125-3 (SPO+) or G7-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F125-4 (SPO-) or J1-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F125-4 (SPO-) or G7-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

  4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

    REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

  5. INSPECT REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

    REPLACE REAR SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

  6. INSPECT TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER 
    1. Remove the telematics transceiver.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Telematics Transceiver)

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (SPI+) - 3 (SPO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      2 (SPI-) - 4 (SPO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      1 (SPI+) or 2 (SPI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (SPO+) or 4 (SPO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ]

  7. REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the speaker assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

  8. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Check for DTCs and proceed to the following step.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output A
      DTC B15C371 is output B

    Result: 

    END (FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY IS DEFECTIVE) 

    Result: 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [07/2022 - ] 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - EACH SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the F4 radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the J1 front No. 1 speaker assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the K1 front No. 1 speaker assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the G5 front No. 2 speaker assembly LH connector.
    5. Disconnect the G7 front No. 2 speaker assembly RH connector.
    6. Disconnect the L4 rear speaker assembly RH connector.
    7. Disconnect the M4 rear speaker assembly LH connector.
    8. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F4-2 (FL+) or K1-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-2 (FL+) or G5-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-3 (RL+) or M4-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-4 (RR+) or L4-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-1 (FR+) or J1-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-1 (FR+) or G7-2 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-7 (FL-) or K1-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-7 (FL-) or G5-1 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  11. REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the speaker assembly with a new or known good one.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2018 - ]

  12. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Clear DTCs 

    2. Turn the ignition switch off.

      DTC B15C371 is output B

  13. CHECK FOR DTC
