High Beam Headlight Circuit [10/2018 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  2. CHECK LIGHTS 
    1. Check the illumination of each high beam lights.

      Result

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Active Test

  4. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS (Sub) / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > AFS (Sub) > Active Test

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

  7. CHECK NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Interchange the No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.

  8. CHECK OPERATION (HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHT) 
    1. Check that the high beam headlight operates normally.

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling (Sub) / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

  12. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Main Body > Active Test

  13. INSPECT H-LP SHADE RELAY 
    1. Remove the H-LP SHADE relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block.
    2. Inspect the H-LP SHADE relay.

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP SHADE RELAY - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP SHADE RELAY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A17 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A18 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 5 - Headlight Assembly LH A17-1 (SOL) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 5 - Headlight Assembly RH A18-1 (SOL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A17-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A18-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 5 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (H-LP SHADE RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)) 
    1. Disconnect the F40 main body ECU (Multiplex network body ECU) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Relay terminal 2 - F40-13 (DIM) Always Below 1 Ω
      Relay terminal 2- Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022]
