DTC B15C1-11: GNSS Antenna Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15C113: GNSS Antenna Circuit Open [10/2019 - 07/2022]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2018 - ] 

    Result:

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly).

      *a Component without harness connected (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    2. Disconnect the C telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the DCM (Telematics Transceiver)

      *a Component without harness connected (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E-3 - C-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      E-3 or C-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E-3a - C-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      E-3a or C-1a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 6 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (for Roof Side).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    2. Disconnect the E telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F-3 - E-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      F-3 or E-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F-3a - E-3a Always Below 1 Ω
      F-3a or E-3a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2018 - 07/2022] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly).

      *a Component without harness connected (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No. 4 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    2. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 4 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (for Roof Side).

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F-3 - G-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      F-3 or G-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F-3a - G-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      F-3a or G-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (for Roof Side) 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (for Roof Side) with a known good one and check if the same problem occurs again.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2018 - ]

      OK

      The system returns to normal.

      Result

  6. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2019 - 07/2022]

      NOTE:
      • The ignition switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [10/2019 - 07/2022]
