DTC B15CB-11: Telephone Main Antenna Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B15CB-13: Telephone Main Antenna Circuit Open [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2020 - 01/2023]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [01/2023 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (for Roof Side) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (for Roof Side) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Telephone and GPS Antenna Assembly (for Roof Side))
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4 - 4a Always 9 to 11 kΩ

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (for Roof Side). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 5 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 5 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 5 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No. 5 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I-4 - H-6 Always Below 1 Ω
      I-4 or H-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I-4a - H-6a Always Below 1 Ω
      I-4a or H-6a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 5 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the K telephone and GPS antenna cord (No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly) connector.

      *a Component without harness connected (Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G-6 - K-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      G-6 or K-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G-6a - K-3a Always Below 1 Ω
      G-6a or K-3a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (FLOOR WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the O137 telephone and GPS antenna cord (floor wire) connector.

    2. Disconnect the O181 telephone and GPS antenna cord (floor wire) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O137-3 (TEL) - O181-1 (TEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      O137-3 (TEL) or O181-1 (TEL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      O137-3a - O181-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      O137-3a or O181-1a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (FLOOR WIRE). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]

    OK

  6. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with a new one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [09/2020 - ]
