DTC B1536: Short in Telephone SUB Antenna Circuit; DTC B1537: Open in Telephone SUB Antenna Circuit [11/2017 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

    6. Recheck for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1536 or B1537 is output A
      DTC B1536 or B1537 is not output B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2017 - 03/2019]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2019 - 09/2020] 

    Result:

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (for Front Side) 
    1. Remove the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (for Front Side).

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Telephone and GPS Antenna Assembly (for Front Side))
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 1a Always 4 to 11 kΩ

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (for Front Side). Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2017 - 09/2020] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (for Front Side) 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna assembly (for Front Side) with a known good one and check if the same problem occurs again.

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - 09/2020]

      OK

      The system returns to normal.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    END 

    Result: 

    NG

  4. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

      Refer to REMOVAL [11/2017 - 09/2020]

      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

      Result

    Result: 

    NEXT 

    PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION [11/2017 - 09/2020]
