DTC B1500: Fuel Sender Open Detected [10/2014 - ]: Procedure

1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

   Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [10/2014 - ]

   Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List

   Fuel amount value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as the needle indication.

REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly.

   Refer to REMOVAL [10/2014 - ]

2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly.

   Refer to INSPECTION [10/2014 - ]

   Result

   Proceed to

REPLACE FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2014 - ] 

Result: 

OK

1. Disconnect the I10 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the b2 fuel sender gauge assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   I10-27 (FR) - b2-1 (FS)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   I10-28 (FE) - b2-2 (FE)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   I10-31 (ES) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω
   I10-27 (FR) or b2-1 (FS) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   I10-28 (FE) or b2-2 (FE) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG
