Satellite Radio Broadcast cannot be Received [10/2014 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SURROUNDINGS 
    1. Check if the vehicle is in an environment where reception is difficult due to something blocking the area above the vehicle.

      HINT: 

      If the area above the vehicle is blocked, such as when in a building or tunnel, reception may not be possible.

    1. Check the display screen.

  4. CHECK CONTRACT CONDITIONS 
    1. Check if the pay-type contract has been extended, or if the contract period has ended.

    1. Perform activation refresh by referring to the satellite radio service web site (http://www.xmradio.com/refresh/).

      HINT: 

      The XM radio ID that is necessary to perform activation refresh can be displayed when CH000 is selected on the satellite radio.

  7. CHECK NO. 1 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the antenna connector from the radio receiver assembly.

      (to No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly)
    2. Remove the antenna connector from the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      SD-1 (SDARS) - 3 Always Below 1 Ω
      SD-1 (SDARS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

  8. CHECK NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the antenna connector from the No. 1 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the antenna connector from the No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      3 - 3 Always Below 1 Ω
      3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. CHECK NO. 4 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the antenna connector from the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the antenna connector from the roof antenna assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  10. CHECK ROOF ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the roof antenna assembly is securely installed.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [10/2014 - 05/2019]

      The roof antenna assembly is installed properly

    1. Replace the roof antenna assembly with a known good one and check if the same problem occurs again.
