Installation [08/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily install the air conditioning unit assembly and instrument panel reinforcement assembly with the 4 bolts and screw.

  2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY WITH AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Be sure to support the air conditioning unit assembly when installing it because failure to do so may cause the bracket of the air conditioning unit assembly to break.
    • When installing the air conditioning unit assembly, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.
    1. Temporarily install the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with air conditioning unit assembly wit the 3 bolts.

      Bolt E 

      Torque: 16 N*m (163 kgf*cm, 12 ft.*lbf)

    2. Install the instrument panel reinforcement assembly with air conditioning unit assembly.
      1. for Passenger Side:

        Install the 2 nuts.

        Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

      2. for Passenger Side:

        Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, install the 2 collars.

      3. for Passenger Side:

        Using a T40 "TORX" socket, install the 2 "TORX" bolts.

        Bolt A 

        Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      4. for Driver Side:

        Using a T40 "TORX" socket, install the 2 "TORX" bolts.

        Bolt B 

        Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      5. for Driver Side:

        Install the bolt.

        Bolt C 

        Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      6. for Engine Room Side:

        Install the bolt.

        Bolt D 

        Torque: 12.5 N*m (127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

      7. for Engine Room Side:

        Install the grommet.

  3. TIGHTEN AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Tighten the 4 bolts and screw in the order shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING HOSE AND ACCESSORY (w/ Cool Box) 
    1. Lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the air conditioning hose and accessory.

      Compressor oil

      ND-OIL 12 or equivalent

      *a Correct
      *b Incorrect
    2. Install the air conditioning hose and accessory with the piping clamp.
      NOTE:

      After connection, check the claw engagement of the piping clamp.

    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) 

  5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD CAP 
    1. Install 4 new instrument panel safety pad cap.

      *A for Driver Side
      *B for Passenger Side
  6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE 
    1. Install the junction block and ground wire with the bolts and nuts.

    2. Attach the clamps to the instrument panel wire and connect the connectors.
  7. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

    2. Connect the 3 connectors.

    3. Install the screw.
  8. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 2 air duct sub-assembly with the screw.

  9. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 1 air duct sub-assembly with the screw.

  10. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - ]

  11. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the No. 3 air duct sub-assembly.

    2. Install the clip.
  12. INSTALL HEATER TO RESISTOR DUCT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 4 claws to install the heater to resistor duct assembly.

    2. Install the 2 clips.
  13. INSTALL METER MIRROR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - ]

  14. INSTALL NO. 1 HEATER TO RESISTOR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the No. 1 heater to resistor duct sub-assembly with the 3 clips.

  15. INSTALL CENTER HEATER TO RESISTOR DUCT 
    1. Install the center heater to resistor duct with the 3 clips.

  16. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - ]

  17. INSTALL FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND BRACKET 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2015 - ]

  18. CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE INLET A 
    1. Connect the heater water hose inlet A with the marking facing left and attach the clip within the area shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the heater water hose inlet A.

  19. CONNECT HEATER WATER HOSE OUTLET A 
    1. Connect the heater water hose outlet A with the marking facing left and attach the clip within the area shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      Do not apply excessive force to the heater water hose outlet A.

  20. CONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the attached vinyl tape from the tubes.

    2. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surface of the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

      Compressor oil

      ND-OIL 12 or equivalent

    3. Install the 2 O-rings to the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
    4. Connect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.
    5. Attach the plate as shown in the illustration and install the bolt.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 47 in.*lbf) 

  21. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 69

  22. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2019 - ]

  23. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 

    Refer to CHECK MODE PROCEDURE [09/2015 - ]

  24. ADD ENGINE COOLANT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  25. CHARGE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WITH REFRIGERANT 

    See step  2

  26. WARM UP ENGINE 

    See step  3

  27. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAKS 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  28. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT GAS LEAK 

    See step  4

  29. INSTALL UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  30. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  31. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  32. INSTALL FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 16

  33. INITIALIZATION SERVO MOTOR 

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2015 - ]
